Anna Marie Robertson - Paul Harris Fellow & Global Grants Scholar in Peace & Conflict Resolution
Anna-Marie holds a BA (Hons) in Transnational Law and Human Rights from Carleton University, a law degree from the University of Cambridge, and an LL.M. in National Security Law from Georgetown University. She completed her LL.M. as part of the Georgetown National Security Law Fellowship program, as a Rotary Global Grant Scholar, and as a recipient of the Viscount Bennett Scholarship from the Law Society of Alberta.
Following her LL.M., Anna-Marie clerked at the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg. She previously worked with NGOs in communications, government relations, policy, legal, and ethics roles in Canada and internationally, most recently in Ukraine, where her work focused on human rights and international humanitarian law, humanitarian principles, explosive ordnance in populated areas, and humanitarian access.
Anna-Marie was a Rotary Youth Exchange Student (2012-2013), sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edmonton and hosted by the Rotary Club of Enkhuizen in the Netherlands.
Anna-Marie is currently completing the Law Society of Ontario licensing process. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales in November 2024 as an Inner Temple Major Scholarship Recipient.
Dr. Carrie Smith - Vice-Provost, University of Alberta
As Vice-Provost (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion), her research is located at the intersection of feminist activism with creative production and digital culture, including practices, products, politics, theories, and communities.
A second research strand takes up an investment in a just academy to examine scholar-activism and the transformation of leadership through feminist pedagogies. In both projects, she is interested in what happens when inventive structures and infrastructures begin in collaboration.

Tammy Cunnington - Paralympian & World Record Holder
36 years ago Tammy was injured when a plane crashed at the Ponoka airshow. From near death at 6 years old to a Paralympian at 40, Tammy brings a message of perseverance, resilience and encouragement in her public speaking engagements.
Tammy is an advocate for health, fitness and sport, encouraging others by being an ambassador for Fast and Female and The Rick Hansen Foundation.
Tammy’s motto is Passion = Victory, and she applies this to all areas of her life and works to instill it in those around her.

Shane Chartrand - Cree Chef & Author
Shane Chartrand, of the maskêkosak (Enoch Cree Nation), isn’t just one of Canada’s leading chefs – he’s also actively involved in the re-emergence of Indigenous cuisine in Canada.
Born Shane “St. John” Gordon, he was adopted into the Chartrand family when he was almost seven years old. On the family’s acreage in Central Alberta, he learned how to grow and respect food from his father, of the Métis Nation, and his mother, a member of the Mi’kmaw Nation and of Irish-Canadian descent. He later relocated to Edmonton to pursue culinary training, where his strong work ethic and passion for cooking found him honing his craft in some of the best restaurants around.
Since then, he has competed on the TV series Chopped Canada, Iron Chef Canada, and Fridge Wars, and he’s also a judge on Season 1 of Food Network Canada’s Wall of Chefs. He was also featured in the award-winning documentary series Red Chef Revival. He is the co-author, along with Jennifer Cockrall-King, of the award-winning cookbook tawâw: Progressive Indigenous Cuisine (Ambrosia/House of Anansi, 2019).
Chartrand enjoys regularly giving back to the community – even if public speaking didn’t come naturally to him at first. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experiences in order to promote understanding and respect across and within Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. He especially loves travelling to other Indigenous communities to learn from Elders and inspiring Indigenous youth to pursue their dreams, be true to their identity, and find a creative path forward through work and service to their communities.
In his downtime, Shane enjoys travelling, fishing and hunting with his father and friends.
